Our Story
At just 23 years old, our founder began his caregiving journey when he moved in with his grandmother. At an age when most are launching their careers and personal lives, he found himself juggling the complex emotional and logistical responsibilities of caring for an elderly loved one.
The early days were overwhelming, marked by exhaustion, frustration, and even resentment. "Why couldn't she find her phone for the tenth time? Why did she rely on me for every task?" These questions often dominated his thoughts. Yet behind those frustrations was a deeper truth: caregiving was about love, connection, and sharing life's moments—even the challenging ones.
A profound turning point arrived during a deeply personal psychedelic experience. In that moment, he vividly saw his grandmother—not as frail or dependent, but as someone courageously carrying the weight of aging. He remembered the heaviness of the pot filled with water she struggled to lift, how her arms shook under its weight, and the careful breaks she took while stirring oatmeal on the stove, pausing to gather her strength. He saw her preparing multiple meals at once—not because she was especially hungry, but because conserving energy was necessary for survival. Each action, though small and seemingly routine, represented enormous strength, resilience, and quiet determination. He finally saw the quiet bravery in her everyday struggles and the depth of her love, expressed through her desire to spend meaningful moments together.
At that moment, caregiving transformed from a burden to an act of profound love and compassion. He realized caregiving was his chance to return the immense love and care she had always selflessly given him.
